Safe, Smart and Sustainable: driving into the future

We will explore the latest technologies, materials and designs for the low carbon automotive industry at this inclusive meeting where researchers, business and investment experts are invited to discuss the way forward and explore new partnerships.

Speakers include:

Julia King, Vice-Chancellor of Aston University, was appointed by the Prime Minister in 2010 as the UK’s Low Carbon Business Ambassador, and was awarded the 2011 Lunar Society Medal.  She is a member of the Governing Board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology and of the World Economic Forum Automotive Agenda Council.  Her academic work focusses on fatigue and fracture in structural materials and developments in propulsion technology.

Tony Harper, Chief Engineer of Jaguar’s Research Department, which developed the technologies for C-X75 hybrid car, with independent electric motors on all four wheels, an engine that runs on diesel, bio fuel, CNG or LPG and CO2 emissions of less than 99 gms/km.

Chris Jackson, Programme Manager at Intelligent Energy on Proton Exchange Membrane fuel cell systems and hydrogen refuelling infrastructure.  Intelligent Energy is a global company based in the UK which developed the world’s first purpose built fuel cell motorbike and is supplying Boeing with the fuel cells which powered the world’s first manned fuel cell aircraft.
